Election night 2004 belonged to the Republicans here in Alabama...they were the big winners across the board when it came to both the Presidential vote in our state, and the State Supreme Court.
President Bush captured the Alabama vote with 63 percent...tht`s compared to Democratic Senator John Kerry`s 37 percent. The Republicans also swept all three spots on the Alabama Supreme Court.
Tom Parker, an aide to former Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore, Jefferson County Probate Judge Mike Bolin, and Shelby County District Judge Patti Smith, all caputured each of the three spots up for grabs on the bench.
Republicans now hold all nine seats on the Alabama Supreme Court, and with the fall of Democratic Judge Sharon Yates, also hold all the seats on the Alabama Court of Civil Appeals.
