Updated: January 7, 2009
A limited number of flu shots became available yesterday at county Health Departments all across Alabama. The Deputy Secretary of the Department of Health & Human Services was in Birmingham Monday, praising Alabama`s plan to distribute the flu vaccine. That plan is still not foolproof, howver, as hundreds waited in line in Alabaster yesterday...a line that snaked around the parking lot at the Health Department. During Monday`s visit, the Deputy Secretary urged people not to panic. He says indications are...this year`s flu season should not be severe, and more vaccine should be on the way.
