The campaign trail is heating up for candidates around the state with less than two weeks until election day. Republican Alabama Supreme Court Nominee Judge Patti Smith made her way to the Houston County Courthouse yesterday, as a part of a statewide family bus tour. The "Mungenast Family Values Tour" began Tuesday, and finishes up today. In her campaign for Place 2 of the Alabama Supreme Court, Judge Smith is running on a family values message. Growing up with 13 brothers and sisters, Smith says she`s learned a thing or two about values. Judge Smith is the fifth of the 14 "Mungenast" children of retired Colonel Andy Mungenast and his wife Norma of Montgomery. Smith was appointed to the bench at age 27, and has been re-elected as a District Judge four times by Shelby County voters.
