MIDLAND CITY MAYORAL ELECTION CONTROVERSY

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
The drama surrounding the recent mayoral election in Midland City may finally be about to die down. After the September 14th election, challenger Virgil Skipper took two-term Mayor Don Parker to court over alleged election fraud. Skipper accused Mayor Parker of illegal conduct and wrongdoing against election officials appointed by the town of Midland City. Both sides of the case were back in a Dale County Courtroom yesterday, but the Judge dismissed the case, saying it didn`t have jurisdiction to intervene in the contest. Skipper declined to comment on the decision. He does have the option to appeal if he so chooses.
