MORE RED CROSS VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
News from Birmingham Red Cross officials is that we need more volunteers to help Florida recovery efforts after Hurricane Charley. That of course, while folks down there prepare for Hurricane Frances this coming weekend. About eighty Alabama volunteers are currently in Florida, the first of the latest new wave just left Tuesday. The plan is to "lay as much groundwork as possible" before Frances comes ashore. At the local level, Red Cross in Dothan say that volunteers are needed for this weekend for local shelters for evacuees. If you are available, please call the local Red Cross Office at 792-9852.
