RENAUL JOHNSON GETS 50 YEARS FOR ASSAULT OF PRINCIPAL

Renaul Maurice Johnson has been found guilty of second-degree assault and intimidating a witness, and Circuit Judge Lawson Little sentenced him to 50 years in prison. Johnson attacked Montana Street School principal Sandra Joyner as she entered the front door of the school September 30th, 2003. The jury deliberated Johnson`s fate for nearly three hours before returning with a guilty verdict on both charges. The attack came after Joyner disciplined Johnson`s nephew, and had a previous altercation with the student`s mother. District Attorney, Doug Valeska was pleased with the verdit. He said that it sends a message that we will protect our teachers and students in this community.
