DO YOU LOVE THE ARTS?

Or if you have a little free time on your hands...the Wiregrass Museum of Art is looking for you! The Museum is filled with lots of learning opportunities, but staff members say that many of Dothan`s residents miss out...partly because they are not aware of the museum`s programs. They also attribute it to the fact that the museum also doesn`t have the staff to put on exhibits that they would like to, and that`s where you can help out. The Wiregrass Museum`s situation is fairly typical, as museums are usually understaffed. Erin Shovel of the Wiregrass Museum, says to volunteer, you will have to take an orientation class on how to handle delicate pieces, but she says it`s a great way to give back to the community. To volunteer you can stop by the museum downtown, or call them at 794-3871.
