After 27 years with the City of Dothan, Jimmy Kilgore will finally retire today as Electric and Water Superintendent of The Dothan Utilities Division, a career he says has helped him and the city grow. What kilgore says he`ll miss the most are the wonderful employees he`s seen advance over the years. Billy Mayes, Water Superintendent, who Kilgore says is in the running for the position, says he credits his boss with motivating him to succeed. Richard Ash, who Kilgore says is also capable of filling his shoes, feels the company won`t be the same without jimmy. "We`re gonna really miss Mr. Kilgore, he`s been a guiding force in the city for quite a while, he set the direction for the department, our goals over the years, and its going to be a big pair of shoes to fill," says Ash. Kilgore says the best part about retiring is leaving behind a staff that he knows will continue with the future advancements of the city.
