Michelle Long teaches eighth grade English at Daleville Middle School. She`s been teaching for six years and understands how important her job is to the future of her students. "I tell them no matter what career they choose, their employers will expect them to speak correctly, use correct grammer, and write correctly, no matter what they choose," says Long. Students appreciate her teaching style and enjoy learning in her classroom because she makes it interesting. "She explains alot for us and helps us out," says student,Anthony Darlington. "She puts action into it and makes it fun. We play games and she talks to us," says another student, Marcqitta Brooks. "She makes it very interesting, sometimes teachers don`t explain it but one time and she keeps going over it until you understand it better," says Raven Britt. Long`s students will be moving on to high school next year and she understands what a big adjustment that can be. That`s why she says she`s doing everything she can to help make sure they are prepared. "My goal is to help prepare them for high school as well as prepare them for their careers. They all need english and I hope they leave here prepared for high school," says Long. Congratulations Ms. Long! You are this weeks "Golden Apple Award" winner!
