EXTRA FIRE PERSONNEL PUT ON HOLD FOR NOW

Dothan fire chief Sam Crawford approached the Dothan City Commission today to ask that the position of Deputy Fire Chief be reinstated within the fire department. The position has been vacant for over ten years. Chief Crawford says an extra hand is needed because current fire personnel are stretched to the limit with extra duties. The Dothan city Commission did not move on the request saying that after the city retirement plan was settled they would look into the position. To say the least fire personnel were disappointed.
