Kathleen Suggs teaches 4th grade at Windham Elementary School. She has been teaching for 32 years and says she loves her job because of the impact she has on her students. "As a teacher, I want to make them aware of what they can do. They have so much potential, if they can just learn to believe in themselves and if they learn to tap the resouces they have they can go so far," says Suggs. Every year she gets a new group of students, and while its always sad to see them move on, she always looks forward to the next year. "Their really special, every year I get a great group and this year is no exception...I have a great bunch of kids," says Suggs. Students say they are excited for Suggs and believe she deserves the award for several reasons. Kalyn Ludwig is one of her students and says,"Shes a great teacher and she teaches us good things. Shes one of the best I`ve ever had. When she teaches, she explains it very well and makes us understand it,". Jose Escalante says he likes the way she teaches math. "When I dont get it, she comes to my desk and explains it to me,". Congraulations Ms. Suggs! You are this weeks "Golden Apple Award" winner!! JANA JACOBS-REPORTER WDHN 18
