An accident occurred last night when a two year old fell out of a moving vehicle.
It happened on at the Citgo on South Oates Street next to Rays Restaraunt.
The child was not restrained in a car seat.
Alabama Law requires all children under the age of six to be strapped into some sort of child safety form.
Officer Sheila Gray says safety belts is an issue that the Police Department takes seriously and you will receive a ticket if you break the law.
Captain Jim Smith said last year alone the Dothan Police Department gave out 140 tickets to parents who were not obeying the law.
Paula Vinson, a Dothan resident, is a grandmother and believes every parent is responsible for buckling up their children.
"These kids are too young, they can`t take care of theirself. They depend on us to keep them safe"
Be responsible and obey the law. Buckle yourself up as well as your children.
