Houston County Commissioners met Monday morning for a regular session meeting.
One of the issues on the agenda that was discussed was a request to award a bid on security for the courthouse.
Chairman Mark Culver said they have been planning on looking at private security for the courthouse door because they felt they could do it less than the deputies who are currently there. The idea has been on hold due to the courthouse rennovation.
Commissioners approved the bid and say it was considerably less than the deputy`s at the door. This will also allow the Sheriff to have two more deputy`s on the street.
This will go into effect October first.
