A Fort Rucker solider is being charged in the death of his stepson found dead in the familys quarters on Sunday morning.
Twenty year old private first class Bruce Matthews is being held by military authorities as a suspect in the death of two year old Jaquel Z. Stuckey.
On Sunday the Matthews family reported to military police at 10:40 that Stuckey was unresponsive. Medical personnel responded and were unable to revive him. Stuckey was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:45.
An autopsy conducted Tuesday concluded that Stuckey died as a result of injuries sustained on September 13th, a day before his death. A murder charge is expected to be filed today. The incident is under investigation by U.S. army criminal investigation command.
