Troy Travels to Jacksonville State for Mid-Week Action

TROY, Ala. - The Troy baseball team travels to Jacksonville, Ala., for a non-conference matchup with Jacksonville State Tuesday night. First pitch from Rudy Abbott Field is set for 6:30 p.m.
 
The game will be broadcast live on the Troy IMG Sports Network with local coverage on 94.7 FM and free worldwide coverage online at TroyTrojans.com; fans can also listen via their smartphones through TroyTrojans.com. Fans can also keep up with the game with free live stats on TroyTrojans.com.
 
Senior right-hander Joe Hernandez (0-0, 1.59) will be making his first start of the season for the Trojans. Hernandez, who was a weekend starter for Troy last season, has seven strikeouts in 5.2 innings this year.

Troy (12-6) enters the week second in the nation in slugging percentage (.498) and 10th in the country averaging 8.1 runs per game; the Trojans have scored at least six runs in 12 of their 18 games this season.
 
Jacksonville State (11-10) is coming off a three-game sweep of Southern Illinois-Edwardsville and has won five of its past six games. The Gamecocks will send sophomore left-hander Taylor Sparks (0-0, 0.79) to the mound for his first start of the season.
