McHugh warned of tough cuts ahead for Fort Rucker if Congress doesn't reach an agreement by March 27.
According to McHugh, installations that do combat training will be first in line for funding, and Fort Rucker is not one of those posts.
"I feel confident that no matter what decisions are made in the future we will fully resource those that are going into harm's way. That's the most important thing we will do," said McHugh.
McHugh said over 500 students will be cut from Fort Rucker due to sequestration.
