Jimmy Ray Shelley, 52, of Ashford, Alabama, died Friday, March 15, 2013 at his residence.
At his request, he will be cremated and a memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2013 in Clearman Chapel of Southern Heritage Funeral Home with Reverend John Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Wednesday prior to the services and at other times will be at the home of the parents. Born in Houston County, Alabama Jimmy was a son of Billy Ray and Ludene Murdock Shelley of Ashford, Alabama. He graduated from Ashford High School and started work at Farley Nuclear Plant in Security with Daniel Construction Company and also Alabama Power Company for twenty Nine years. He is of the Baptist Faith.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Herbert & Ruby Richadrson Shelley & Eugie and Ruby Harp Murdock.
In addition to his parents he is survived by an aunt, Betty Jean (Pat) and husband Rufus Adsms; uncles, Michael Murdock, James (Doris) Shelley, Larry (Kathy) Shelley, Don (Marsha) Shelley, Harold (Rose) Shelley; Several nieces and nephews and friends.
