Mrs. Janie K. Hatcher of Dothan passed away at her residence on Saturday, March 16, 2013. She was 81. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Rev. Clyde Ellison officiating and Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
Mrs. Hatcher was born in Geneva County on September 23, 1931 to the late James Curtis and Vallie Jones McGowan.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph William Hatcher of Dothan; son, Greg Hatcher of Delray Beach, FL; daughter, Gwen Parrish (Wayne) of Port St. Joe, FL; grandson, Jason Hathaway (Laura); three great grandchildren, Blake, Adam and Joshua Hathaway, all of San Antonio, TX; brother, James Curtis McGowan, Jr. of Enterprise; four sisters, Joann Futrell, Ruth Carr, Edith Bennett and Linda Bowdoin, all of Dothan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
