Missouri Advances Past Texas A&M

NASHVILLE - Alex Oriakhi scored a team-high 13 points Thursday to lead sixth-seeded Missouri to its first-ever Southeastern Conference Tournament win, defeating 11th-seeded Texas A&M 62-50 at Bridgestone Arena.

Missouri (23-9) advances to play third-seeded Ole Miss (23-8) on Friday at 10 p.m. ET on the SEC Network.

Oriakhi went 6-of-7 from the field for his 13 points as one of four Missouri players to score in double-figures. He also added a game-high 10 rebounds. Laurence Bowers, Jabari Brown and Tony Criswell each chipped in 10 points.

Missouri out-rebounded Texas A&M 46-31. The Tigers shot 44.7 percent (21-of-47) from the field, while limiting the Aggies to just 24.1 percent (14-of-58) shooting.

Texas A&M (18-15) was led by Fabyon Harris' game-high 15 points, including four three-pointers.

Game Notes:
    Missouri controlled the first half, scoring the game's first five points and leading by as many as 13 points at 26-13.  The Tigers took a 28-19 lead into halftime.
    Texas A&M got within seven points early in the second half but Missouri pulled away steadily from there.
    Missouri had a dominant defensive and rebounding performance.
o    Missouri limited A&M to just 24.1 percent from the field, the third time this season the Tigers held an opponent under 25 percent shooting
o    Missouri held A&M to just 32 points in the first 36 minutes of the game; A&M got their final 18 points in the last four minutes of the contest
o    Missouri dominated the rebounding 46-31 and points in the paint 28-14
    
Texas A&M Notes:
    A&M is 18-15.
    Fabyon Harris led the Aggies with 15 points and tied his career high for three-pointers with four.

Missouri Notes:
    Missouri is 23-9.
    Missouri is 4-0 in league tournament action under Coach Frank Haith after winning the Big 12 tourney title last season.
