Edgar Eugene (Eddie) Whigham

Mr. Edgar Eugene (Eddie) Whigham, former owner of Whigham Milling Company and lifelong resident of Enterprise, AL, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 surrounded by his family.  He was 81.

            Funeral services will be 2:00pm Friday from the Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Enterprise with Rev. Charles Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Enterprise City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Thursday, March 14 from 6 until 8 pm.

            He is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Annie Mae Whigham, sister, Ann Young and Virginia Speigner, brother, Ben Whigham.

            Survivors include his wife, Nell Helms Whigham; children: Joan W. Byrd (Joe), Edgar E. (Ed) Whigham, Jr. (Therisa), Stephanie W. Jones (Charles); grandchildren: Jennifer E. Britton, James C. (Jay) Britton IV, Erin L. Britton, Rachel B. Whigham, Hannah G. Whigham, Mallory Jones Wood (Blake), Madison Jones Adkison (Brandon); great-grandchildren: James Griffin Wood, William Jeff Adkison, Weston Charles Adkison, Joshua Cade Woodham; brother-in-law, Merril Speigner.

            His family would like to extend a special thank you to Leah Russell and Marie Harris with Gentiva Hospice for their love and kindness.
