Dale County Sheriff Wally Olson made one of his few public appearances since last month's bunker standoff at Dothan's Kiwanis Club meeting on Tuesday. Olson reflected on a situation he said forever changed his life. He told Dothan Kiwanis members the text message he received on January 29th is one he will never forget. "I received a message saying there was a man with a gun on the bus and then minutes later I received another saying the bus driver was dead," explained Olson.
He credits the support from the community and the power of prayer for bringing the young boy held in the bunker to safely. He gave club members a chance to ask questions, which he says are part of the healing process.
