Doris Jean Decker Johnson

Mrs. Doris Jean Decker Johnson, 73, a 36 year resident of Dothan, Alabama died Tuesday, February 26, 2013.

Graveside services will be at Memory Hill Cemetery, Highway 52, Dothan, at 10:00 am, Saturday, March 2, 2013.

Mrs. Johnson was born August 8, 1939 in Hardin, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Clifford and Dorothy Roney Decker. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, William E. Johnson and two sons, Dale DeCapua and Jerry DeCapua.

Mrs. Johnson leaves behind to cherish her memories her son Joseph DeCapua (Tea), Point Pleasant Beach, NJ; daughter, Susan DeCapua, Orlando, FL; daughter Theresa DeCapua (Donald Brooks), Melbourne, FL; sister Patsy Brannon (Ray), Dothan, and sister Loretta Farmer (Billy), Big Cliffty, KY; brother Clifford Decker (Pat) of Radcliff, KY; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. 

Her Christian ministry was to help people in need.  She supplied housing for many people over the years with her self-made real estate acquisitions.

The joy and passion in life she experienced most was rescuing, caring for and re-homing stray cats and dogs.  She has accredited to rescuing over 100 animals.  She would find, love, spay and neuter, rehabilitate, and re-home animals to  caring and deserving homes, while gladly absorbing all costs. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wiregrass Humane Society, PO Box 1045, Dothan, AL  36302 in memory of Doris Jean Johnson.
