Louise Alice Parker Childers

Mrs. Louise Alice Parker Childers, age 95, a resident of Dothan died Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at her residence following an extended illness.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, March 1, 2013 in the Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Martin and Rev. Charles Littlefield officiating  with Kendall Glover of Glover Funeral Home directing.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Southern Care Hospice, 2576 Montgomery Highway, Suite 2, Dothan, AL  36303.

Mrs. Childers was born on June 1, 1917 in Dothan, AL the daughter of the late Jesse and Mary Gaylord Parker.  She moved from Skipperville and has lived in Dothan for 30 years.  She was a homemaker, a wonderful mother and grandmother.  She was a member of Magnolia Methodist Church.

Mrs. Childers is preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter, Alicia Childers.

She is survived by eight daughters - Dottie Kent, Dothan; Peggy Sue Meeks, Dothan; Mary Alice Pharris, Dothan; Racheal Eloise Baron, Dothan; Helen Jeanette Ripoll, Skipperville; Debra Lynn Childers, Tallahassee, FL; Linda Louise Johnson, Houston, TX; Joyce Ann Whitner, Houston, TX; and one son Hoke Mitchell Childers, of Skipperville.
