The Auburn baseball team will welcome Eastern Illinois to Plainsman Park for a three game series beginning Friday at 3pm. The series continues at 3pm on Saturday and concludes Sunday at 1pm.
Auburn is 6-2 for the third time under head coach John Pawlowski's direction, also starting that was in 2010 and 2011. The current club is hitting .282, led by Blake Austin's .400, while the pitching staff has a 1.75 ERA, the lowest staff ERA after eight games since 1996.
Starting on the mound for Auburn this week will be LHP Daniel Koger (0-0, 0.00) on Friday and LHP Michael O'Neal (2-0, 1.54 ERA) on Saturday. Sunday's starter has yet to be determined.
Eastern Illinois will start three straight right-handers on the mound, starting with Matt Borens (0-1, 3.18) on Friday. Joe Greenfield (1-0, 0.66) goes Saturday and Andrew Grahn (0-0, 6.23) gets the call on Sunday.
This is the first meeting between the two teams on the diamond.
All three games are a part of the Faculty/Staff Weekend where there will be two-for-one admission for Auburn University faculty and staff with an ID. Friday is Fourquare Friday and those that check in on Foursquare will have a chance to win a prize from Auburn baseball. There will also be Tiger Trivia on Saturday and Baseball Bingo on Sunday. Families can buy three tickets and get one free (advance purchase only-promo code FAMILY) to Sunday's game and there will also be a post-game autograph session that day.
