Governor Robert Bentley paid a visit to Lockheed Martin in Pike County Wednesday.

He spent the lunch hour congratulating the company for winning a prestigious national award.

Lockheed was also recognized at the state level, receiving the "Alabama Performance Excellence Award."

Governor Bentley said both of these awards are key players in bringing new industries to Alabama.

"I just wanted to come and honor the workers here. As I recruit industries into Alabama the number one thing I use to recruit industry is our workforce," said Governor Bentley. "Our workers work hard, they take pride in the work they do and that makes a difference when recruiting industry."
