Dothan Woman Dies In Overnight Traffic Accident

One woman is dead after a freak traffic accident overnight.

Dothan Police responded to a report of a car running off the road in the area of the Circle and Columbia Hwy. First reports were the car had ran off the road and was near the railroad tracks.

Police searched for the vehicle in the area where it was reported to have run off the road. Emergency crews came up empty in their search.

About four hours later a worker with CSX Railroad found the vehicle in a different area than first reported.

The vehicle ran off the road and fell approximately 80 feet from the road and landed nose first between bridges. Reports are the driver was killed on impact.

The driver has been identified as 80 year old Mildred Maddox of Dothan.
