The rain held off for several hours Monday, but for the town of Geneva it wasn't long enough.

They are bracing for floods...again. It has only been a week since the Choctawhatchee River flooded and now it's just feet away from happening again. The river is up to 23 feet and is expected to crest at 28 feet around 9:00 Thursday morning.

Flooding outside of the levee isn't the only concern. Many areas of Downtown Geneva are also flooding.

Geneva County EMA Director, Margaret Mixon said, even a couple more inches of rain could be harmful. "The last count was 21 roads closed, and I'm sure there will be quite a few more if we get two or three more inches of rain tonight. We're just praying for dry weather," continued Mixon.

The city is receiving some relief after renting two pumps to push water inside the city up and over the levee.
