Jane L. Brown

Jane L. Brown, a resident of  Dothan, died Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Flowers Hospital. She was 85.

Funeral services for Ms. Brown will be held at 2:30 PM Tuesday, February 26, 2013 in Clearman Chapel with Dr. Paul Roten officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill cemetery with Southern Heritage directing. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to; Child Evangelism Fellowship, 2908 Pump House Road, Birmingham, AL 35243.

Ms. Brown was born in Jacksonville, Florida on July 1, 1927 to the late Charles Henry and Minnie Marsh Livingston. She moved to Dothan at an early age and later moved to Miami, Florida where she raised her family returning to Dothan in 1979. Ms. Brown was a graduate of Miami Bible College and her passion was teaching the bible and bible lessons to children. She attended First Assembly of God where she taught a Sunday School class.

Ms. Brown is preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Brown; son, Robert G. Brown; four brothers and a sister.

Survivors include her son and daughter in law, Edwin L. Brown and Bertice, Birmingham, AL; daughter in law, Giselle Brown, N. Augusta, SC; four grandchildren, Melanie Dykes, Emily Brown, Joshua Brown, Robbie Brown; three great grandchildren, Katy Dykes, Ellis Dykes, Molly Dykes; two sisters, Linda Loutsch, Sioux City, IA and Joan Furtado, California.
