Kathy Lynette Hall Barger

Mrs. Kathy Lynette Hall Barger of Ariton, Alabama, formerly of Geneva passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2013, surrounded by her family.  She was 54.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 22, 2013, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Bill Weed officiating and her brother, Rev. Ricky Hall delivering the eulogy.  Burial will follow in the Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, February 21, from 6 until 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family asked that a love offering be made to the Rocky Head Baptist Church, 1741 Co. Rd. 95, Ariton, AL 36311.

Kathy was born May 9, 1958 in Geneva County, Alabama.  She enjoyed working with children and youth at various churches, serving as a foster parent and  also hosting foreign exchange students.  Her favorite pastime was sewing, but her greatest joy came from being a grandmother to her grandson, Troy.  Kathy was a very giving person and always gave unselfishly to others.  She was very devoted to her family and will be greatly missed.  She was a member of Rocky Head Baptist Church.

Her father, Roy Manzie Hall, and a brother, Roy Nicky Hall, both preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband of 22 years, Bryan K. Barger of Ariton, AL; one son and daughter-in-law, Nicky and Denisha Tidwell; one grandson, Troy Tidwell, all of Opelika, AL; mother, Loyette Hall of Geneva; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Teresa and David Alred and their daughter, Ashley and Parker, all of Westville, FL, Wanda and Johnny Johnson and their sons, Chip and Jerod, of Geneva; one brother and sister-in-law, Ricky and Hope Hall and their sons, Justin and Josh, all of Westville, FL; other extended family and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Nicky Tidwell, Chip Johnson, Jerod Johnson, Justin Hall, Josh Hall, and Todd Deaton.
