Mary Ellen Brown Gordon

Mrs. Mary Ellen Brown Gordon, age 83, a resident of Carrollton, Ga. (formerly of Ashford, AL.) died Friday, February 8, 2013, in Carrollton, GA following an extended illness.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am (CST) on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Crestlawn Memorial Cemetery, 50 Crestlawn Circle, Dothan, AL with the Reverend Tim Bell officiating and Kendall Glover of Glover Funeral Home directing.
The family will be receiving friends Wednesday from 9:30 am (CST) to 10:30 am(CST) at Glover Funeral Home prior to services. Flowers will be accepted.
Mrs. Gordon was born on January 27, 1930 in Biloxi, MS the daughter of the late James Lockard Brown, Sr. and Priscilla Ellen Letort. Mrs. Gordon attended Perkinston Community College and earned her Teachers Degree at The University of Southern Mississippi. She taught school and coached basketball for several years in Mississippi. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Eufaula.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a infant sister, Geraldine Brown.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Dr. Wallace Carroll Gordon, Sr., Carrollton, GA. (formerly of Ashford, AL.) ; two daughters - Ms. Ellen Gordon, Donalsonville, GA and Mary Gordon Williamson (Tom), Carrollton, GA; son, Carroll Gordon, Jr., Ashford, AL; one brother James Lockard Brown, Jr.(Wanda), Ocean Springs, MS; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
