Drainage ditches in were at full capacity Monday morning as eight inches or more rain fell.  Things could get worse as more rain is predicted to fall through Wednesday.

We have received 4-6 inches of rain already (depending on location) with another 4-6 inches expected prior to nightfall on said Houston County EMA Director Clark Matthews.  "Residents in low lying areas or areas throughout our county that are prone to flooding, should be prepared to deal with high waters."  Matthews said evacuations are not expected at this time.

However, Alabama Highway 52 near Ommussee Creek Road was closed because of water over the roadway. Several other roads are also closed because of heavy rain.

WDHN's Stephen Crews reports Geneva has received eight inches of rainfall since Sunday night. Only isolated flooding has been reported at this time.
