Roy Sims of Enterprise, AL passed away Monday, February 4, 2013 in Flowers Hospital. He was 78.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Rev. Larry Doster and Rev. Boyd Hartzog officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Lee Street Baptist Church, 630 East Lee Street, Enterprise, AL 36330.
Roy was preceded in death by a daughter, Jean Sims, his parents, Comer and Estha Sims and his sister, Joanna Sims.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Horton Sims, Enterprise; three daughters, Kathi Hart (Carlos) Jacksonville, FL; Susan Johnson (Gary) Prattville, AL; Patricia Sims, Enterprise; one son, Joe Sims, Enterprise; Roy's wife's children, Janet Downing (Jerry) Enterprise; Ann Bruce, Elba; Fran Holmes, Enterprise; Bobby Horton (Sandra) New Brockton; Tommy Horton, Elba; Lee Horton (Debbie) Enterprise; eighteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; his sister, Dixie Johnson (Tommy) Enterprise.
