Helen Katherine Shupert Austin

Helen Katherine Shupert Austin of Midland City passed away Monday, February 4, 2013 at her residence. She was 86.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday, February 7, 2013, at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Paul Edenfield officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 10 to 11 A.M. Thursday, February 7, 2013, one hour prior to the service. At other times, the family will be gathered at the home of Mrs. Austin. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice.
Mrs. Austin, a lifetime resident of Dale County, enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Her sons and grandchildren were a great source of pride and comfort.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Shupert and Belle Patterson Shupert, her husband, John Austin, and one brother, Charles Shupert.
Survivors include her sons, Johnny Austin and his wife, Twyla of Midland City; Sammy Austin and his wife, Sandra of Headland; Rickey Austin and special friend, Joyce Arnold of Dothan; Gary Austin and his wife, Pam of Dothan; Bobby Austin and his wife, Cindy of Midland City; brother, Aurthur (Pete) Shupert and his wife, Jean of Brunswick, GA; eleven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Steve Austin, Johnny Austin, Brian Austin, Michael Brannon, Chris Brannon, and Todd Barron.
A special thanks to Covenant Hospice and her caretakers, Danielle and Rhonda, for their compassion and devotion during her brief illness.
