Jimmie Lou Green Andrews

Jimmie Lou Green Andrews, a resident of Pinckard, died Thursday afternoon, January 31, 2013, at the home of a daughter, Pam Austin, in Dothan. She was 84.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, February 3, 2013, in the Pinckard Baptist Church with Reverend Roger Stone and Reverend Paul Edenfield officiating. Burial will follow in the Pinckard Memorial Cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 P. M. Sunday in the church sanctuary. At other times, the family will be at the home of a daughter, Pam Austin, 513 North Park Avenue in Dothan.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice,104 Rock Bridge Road, Dothan, AL 36303.

Mrs. Andrews, affectionately known as "Big Mama", was born in Colquitt, Georgia, daughter of the late Lonza Curtis Green and Lola Mae Davis Green. She lived in Pinckard all her adult lifetime where she was a member of the Pinckard Baptist Church. In earlier years, Mrs. Andrews and her husband owned and operated Andrews Grocery and Market in Pinckard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Hennon (Pete) Andrews, a son, Bob Curtis Andrews, a grandson, Chris Nance,  and a brother, Rudolph Green.

Surviving relatives include two daughters, Charlotte Allen and husband, Gaylon, Napier Field; Pam Austin and husband, Gary, Dothan; two sons, James Andrews and Andy Andrews, both of Pinckard; a very dear special friend of the family, Ann Blondheim, Eufaula; ten grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Al Allen, Marc Allen, Ryan Allen, Eric Andrews, Scott Andrews and Jeff Walding.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Covenant Hospice and especially Carla, Cynthia, Lindsey and Mary for the loving care and kindness shown to Mrs. Andrews during her illness.
