12:00 P.M. Friday Report - Hostage Standoff

There are a few new updates at this hour related to the hostage standoff.

  • We are told the Sheriff Wally Olson did get some sleep at some point since the last news conference last night. Olson has not left the scene since the standoff began on Tuesday.
  • A press conference was scheduled this morning with the family of slain bus driver Charles Poland. The press conference was cancelled on the advisement of law enforcement.
  • The Salvation Army is reporting that they have served over 6,000 meals to law enforcement since the standoff began.
  • Another press conference is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. this afternoon. Previously, a press conference was planned for this morning but cancelled.
  • WDHN's Jamiese Price, Kadie Crowell and Kevin Presley are in Midland City working to provide the latest.
