Grover C. Davis

Mr. Grover C. Davis of Blake Road, Samson, Alabama passed away Friday, January 25, 2013. He was 78.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 28, in the Piney Grove Baptist Church with Hospice Chaplain Chris Adams and Rev. Gary Meadows officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the church Monday beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continue until service time.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice, 1219 Rucker Blvd., Enterprise, AL 36330.
Mr. Davis was born November 9, 1934, in Geneva County, Alabama to the late Malcom and Bonnie Farris Davis. Grover was affectionately known as "Grover Jordan" by his good friend Royce Crews. He enjoyed the outdoors especially coon and fox hunting, and also talking on the CB so everyone would know the 10-20 for "Squirrel". He was known for his practical jokes, just ask his nephew "Randoo". Grover was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents a daughter, Susan Renee Davis, his brother and sister-in-law, Leland and Louise Davis, as well as a brother-in-law, Grady Meeks, all preceded him in death.
Survivors include his faithful wife of 53 years, Willa Ree Jones Davis; one granddaughter, Reann Davis; one sister, Fausteen Meeks, all of Samson; several special nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
The family would like to say special thanks to their family and to Gentiva Hospice for the love and dedication that was shown to them.
