Luverne Skipper Anderson

Luverne Skipper Anderson, 91, formerly of Dothan, died Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Jackson South Community Hospital in Miami, FL.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 21, 2013 in Clearman Chapel of Southern Heritage Funeral Home with Reverend Stacy Stafford officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. prior to the services.

Burial will follow in Crestlawn Cemetery with Southern Heritage Funeral directing.

Born in Dothan, Alabama, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Ila Lee Skipper. Luverne was a homemaker and a member of Piney Grove United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by seven brothers, Clyde Skipper, Oscar Skipper, Clant Skipper, Whitt Skipper, Arthur Skipper, Buck Skipper and Fratte Skipper; three sisters, Estelle Reardon, Ruby Tidwell and  Muriel Harrison Hadden.

Surviving are a son, David Alexander Anderson JR, Miami, FL; five grandchildren, Trenton Blair Smith, Walter Gassaway Powell III, Joseph Powell, David A. Anderson III and Brecken Nicole Smith; one great-grandchild, Anderson Smith.
