Eudon "Don" Hughes Callihan

Mr.
Eudon "Don" Hughes Callihan of Hartford passed away Thursday,
January 17, 2013 at the family residence. He was
75.
Funeral
services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 21, in Sorrells Funeral
Home Chapel with Rev. Freddie McCain officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow
in Tabernacle United Methodist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of
Slocomb directing.
The family
will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00
p.m.
Mr. Callihan
was born on January 5, 1938 in Geneva County.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hartford. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force
and was awarded the Bronze Star for his heroism in Vietnam. After retiring from active duty, he was
employed with the U.S. Postal Service where he later
retired.
He was
preceded in death by his natural parents, A. B. and Minnie Hughes, his loving
adoptive parents, Irwin and Alma Palmer
Callihan.
Survivors
include his wife of 55 years, Sherrie Jean Whitaker Callihan, of Slocomb; one
daughter: Sherrie Ladonna (Randall)
Shutes of Hartford; two grandchildren:
Minnie Ladonna Littefield, Jeffrey Scott (Caitlin) Dowling all of Dothan;
three great grandchildren: Ty, Bryce and
Tucker; one sister: Linda Callihan
Benefield of Slocomb; and other extended family and
friends.
