The Fourth Annual Dothan Education Summit featured Spanish dancing, musical performances and characters right out of the history books as Dothan City Schools highlighted a few of the exciting ways students are learning. Highlands Elementary Student, Addison Reynolds said her teachers have set the books aside, but that hasn't hindered her history lesson. "You get to learn each little detail by dressing up as a character and not just one thing that you could read in a book," explained Addison.

The Education Summit featured booths from all 19 Dothan City Schools and parents, community members and even teachers walked away in amazement at everything students are doing. Montana Magnet School's P.E Coach, B.T Hinson, said events like Thursday's remind him why he moved here years ago to ensure his daughter would be in a school system as great as Dothan. "This is my 15th year of teaching, seven years here in Dothan City Schools and kids here have a lot of opportunities they do not have in other areas," continued Hinson.

The summit also featured performances from the Northview Jazz Band and Dothan Show Choir as well as a "State of the School System" address given by Superintendent Tim Wilder.
