Mrs. Vickie Elnita Smith Roland of Dothan passed away Sunday, January 13, 2013, at the age of 94.
Graveside services will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at Dothan City Cemetery with Brother Bill Smith officiating and Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends following the service. At other times the family will be gathered at 803 Girard Ave. Dothan, AL.Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the Prayer Garden Memorial Fund at First Christian Church, 1401 N. Cherokee Ave. Dothan, AL 36303.
Mrs. Roland was a member of First Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing and gardening.
She is preceded in death by her parents T.R. and Lelia Smith, her husband, Thomas Edward Roland, Sr., two step-children, Thomas E. Roland, Jr., Virginia R. Mathews, and a son-in-law, Roger R. Overton.
Survivors include her daughter, Mickey R. Overton of Dothan; grandchildren, Kevin Overton (Jannell), Kellie O. Lane (Jeff), Linda Hughes, (Van) William Roland (Christine), Thomas E. Roland III (Teresa), Patricia Miller and Mike Mathews, twelve great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren, special friend, Regina White and grandson, Jayden White, and several nieces and nephews.
