Bobby L. Oliver

Bobby L. Oliver, a resident of Cowarts, Alabama, died early Sunday morning, January 13, 2013, at his home. He was 69.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Monday, January 14, 2013, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Jackie Tanner officiating and a eulogy to be given by Lay Speaker Ed Hughes. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, between Headland and Dothan. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:30 P.M. Monday at the mortuary in Headland.
Bobby Oliver was born and reared in Houston County, near Wicksburg, son of the late Ford W. Oliver and Fannie M. Keel Oliver. He lived most of his lifetime in the Union Hill community, near Cottonwood, before moving to Cowarts in 2009. Bobby was employed by Southeastern Oil Company of Dothan as the Supervisor for the past forty-nine years. He was of the Assembly of God Faith. Bobby was preceded in death by a sister, Sue Helms Ellenburg and a brother, J.B. Oliver.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Myra McCord Oliver, Cowarts; a daughter, Lynn Oliver Lewis and husband, Stan, Cottonwood; a son, Lamar Oliver and wife, Gigi, Dothan; a brother, Sammy Oliver and wife, Seretha, Cottonwood; a sister-in-law, Virginia Adkins Oliver, Dothan; three grandchildren, Whitney Lewis, Ethan Lewis and Kade Oliver; several nieces and nephews.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Waymon Cureton, Larry Helms, Lee Brennan, Jason Sanders, Ronnie Posey and Donald Thweatt.
