William David Hidle

Rev. William David Hidle of Slocomb passed away
Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Flowers Hospital.
He was 80.
Funeral
services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 13, in Slocomb First
Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Raley officiating. Private burial will follow in
Slocomb City Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be
made to Slocomb Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 608, Slocomb, AL 36375.
The family
will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00
p.m.
Rev. Hidle was
born on January 23, 1932 in Geneva County, AL to the late Lee Roy and Evelyn
Ruth Hidle. He was a minister and had
served numerous churches in the
area.
He was
preceded in death by his parents as well as two brothers, Paul Hidle and John
Caraway.
Survivors
include wife of 61 years: Ruby S. Hidle
of Slocomb; one son: David Keith Hidle
and his fianc, Robyn, of Dothan; two sisters:
JoAnn Shipes of Slocomb, Melba (Harvey) Sizemore of Hartford;
sister-in-law: Barbara Hidle, Slocomb, grandchildren: Michelle (Jim) Bradley and Dr. (DVM) Kristen
Hidle Fuller, Lauren Taylor and Dr. (DO) Charla Evans; four step grandchildren:
T.J., Ian, Lucas, Dillon; one great grandchild:
Matt Bradley; several nieces and
nephews.
