The 20-year-old University of Alabama student that was critically injured in a three-vehicle accident in Montgomery earlier this week has died, the Montgomery Police Department reports in a released statement.

Natalie Baine, of Roswell, Ga., was pronounced deceased at 3:58 p.m. on Saturday at Baptist Medical Center.

Baine sustained fatal injuries on the night of January 8 after the truck she was a passenger in was involved in an accident with a chartered bus carrying Alabama cheerleaders back from the BCS National Championship game in Miami. One other vehicle was also involved.

The crash, which is still under investigation, occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. near Western Boulevard and Interstate 65.

This is the first traffic fatality in the City of Montgomery in 2013.
