Mrs. Mary L. Mills of Slocomb passed away Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Signature Health Care Center of North Florida in Graceville. She was 89.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 7, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home with Dr. Mike Shirah and Rev. Mike Glenn officiating. Burial will follow in Christian Home Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Christian Home Baptist Church: 669 Conner Rd. Slocomb, AL 36375.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m.
Mrs. Mills was born on November 15, 1923 in Houston County to the late Jesse Eugene and Sarah E. Haddan Watford. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family. She was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord and her church.
In addition to her parents, her husband, James Roland Mills; one granddaughter, Marcie Mills; two sisters and five brothers preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Martha Jean Peters (Billy Max); two sons: Michael Mills (Daisy) and Cullen Mills (Susan) all of Slocomb; two sisters-in-law: Polly Deuerling of Marianna FL and Ida Lee Boswell of Slocomb; seven grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.
