Katie Merle Peacock Wright

Mrs. Katie Merle Peacock Wright of Dothan passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2013, at her residence. She was 85.
Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. Friday, January 4, 2013, at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend George Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 P.M. Thursday, January 3, 2013. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Mrs. Wright was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church. She loved her family, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren dearly. She also loved Gospel Music.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Leslie Quicey Peacock and Erie Etta Messer Peacock, her husband, Johnnie E. Wright, one daughter, Connie Tucker, and two brothers.
Survivors include daughters, Carolyn Weldon and her husband, David of Dothan; Sharon Hayes and her husband, Joe of Dothan; Debbie Cotton of Dothan; sisters, Martha Jo Watford of Dothan; Mary Mills of Dothan; eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
