James David Masters

Mr. James David Masters of Dothan passed away Thursday, December 27, 2012, at Noland Hospital. He was 81.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Sunday, December 30, 2012, at Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Hosea Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 1 to 2 P.M. Sunday, December 30, 2012.

Flowers will be accepted.

Mr. Masters was a truck driver for many years driving for both G.F.A. and AAA Cooper. He was an avid baseball fan, and loved to cheer on his favorite team, the Atlanta Braves. He loved being involved with his children and grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Daisy Masters and his granddaughter Kayann Linton.

Survivors include his wife Joyce Masters of Dothan; daughters, Shelia Masters Qualls and her  husband Winford of Dothan, Ruth Dorsey and husband Dan of Aiken, South Carolina, Kathy Linton and husband Brad of Morgantown, West Virginia; son, Danny Masters and spouse Shirley of Dothan; grandchildren, Lindsay Qualls, Chris Lee, Shanda Gilliam, Jason and Jon Dorsey, Brandon Linton, Becky Dammeyer, Chris and Jason Hawk; and several great-grandchildren.
