Mrs. Lillie Louvern Sowell Brown of Hwy 179, Bonifay, Florida passed away Monday, December 24, 2012. She was 84,
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 28, at East Pittman Baptist Church with Dr. Wesley Adams, Rev. Don Gainey and Rev. Gary Taylor officiating. Mrs. Brown will be placed into the church one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, December 27, from 5 until 7 p.m.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the East Pittman Baptist Church, Hwy 179, Bonifay, FL 32425.
Mrs. Brown, the last surviving child of the late Joseph Dupree and Eula James Retherford Sowell, was born December 27, 1927, in Holmes County, Florida. She was a very talented lady. She loved flowers and had gracefully mastered the art of gardening and was also an accomplished artist and seamstress. She was a founding member of East Pittman Baptist Church. She was a very loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents her husband Hubert Brown, one great-grandson, Kreed Brown, as well as five brothers and two sisters all preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, Greg Brown (Lucianne) Bonifay; two daughters: Gwen Shehee (Jimmy), Geneva, and Deneice Cochran, Jacksonville, FL; four grandchildren: Shanna Shehee Powell, Geneva, Derek Shehee (Marissa), Prattville, AL, Creig Brown (Carrie) and David Morrison, all of Bonifay; four great-grandchildren: Ashley and Emily Powell, Kelsey and Hadley Brown, and one on the way, Truett Shehee; several nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
