Two men are dead after a shooting in Pike County.

Pike County Sheriff Russell Thomas said 24-year-old Terrence Terell Casrell was killed Sunday night at his home in Tarentum by 31-year-old Adrian Cornelius McClendon.

Thomas called these deaths "senseless."

Thomas says McClendon came to Casrell's house, kicked in the front door, and started shooting.

According to Casrell's family, Terrence came out of a back bedroom, shooting back at McClendon.

Casrell's family said McClendon ran outside of the house, and later died in the front yard.

"The young man still had his hood on his face," said Ernestine Casrell, Terrence's mother. "He took it off, pleading and telling me 'I'm sorry.'"

"I said sorry isn't good enough. You bust in my house and shot my son. My son might be dead on the floor."

According to Sheriff Thomas, Casrell did die on the scene.

"It is very unusual not only to have something like this happen in Tarentum but in Pike County," said Thomas. "We are seeing this type of violent activity all across this state and across this country."

Family members told WDHN that they believe the two men were fighting over a girl.

They also said they saw two SUVs parked up the road that they believe dropped McClendon off at the house.

The Sheriff's Office has not confirmed that, and says the case is still under investigation.
