Retha Mae Hall

Mrs. Retha Mae Hall of Slocomb passed away Friday,
December 14, 2012 at Signature Health Care Center of North Florida in
Graceville. She was
85.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday,
December 17, in Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Royce Morrow and Rev.
Doug Dowdey officiating. Burial will
follow in Burns Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb
directing. Flowers will be accepted or
contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Resource Center, P.O. Box 1170, Dothan,
AL
36302.
The family will receive
friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00
p.m.
Mrs. Hall was born on September 15, 1927 in Geneva
County, AL to the late Joseph (Jodie) Henry and Ethel Izora Coker Hughes. She was a member of Burns Assembly of God
Church and worked as a seamstress at Hedstrom Union until her retirement. She enjoyed spending her time as a
volunteer at the Slocomb Senior Citizens Center.
In addition to her parents,
she was preceded in death by her husband:
W.D. Hall; one sister: Glenda
Faye Hughes; and one brother: Tommy
Hughes.
Survivors include her two daughters: Patricia Cotton (Joe) and Melinda Ballard
(Larry) all of Slocomb; one son: Wayne
Hall (Ann) of Fadette; two sisters:
Addie Ree Warren of Slocomb, Annette Hughes Williams of Grand Bay, AL;
one brother: Ted Hughes (Martha) of
Oxford, AL; one sister-in-law: Loretta
Hughes of San Jose, CA; four grandchildren:
Greta Hall (Pat) of Slocomb, Kevin Hall (Judy) of Fadette, Trevor Cotton
(LaShay) of Fadette, Ben Ballard of Dothan; six great grandchildren; several
nieces and nephews.
