More than one month after their arrest, a Cottonwood couple remains jailed in Ohio on sex charges. Court records in Montgomery County show Larry Eugene Bones, 36, has been indicted on 16 counts of rape and two charges of Complicity to Commit Rape. Brandy Warner Bones, 33, has been indicted on one count of rape. Each is being held on $500,000 bond.
The couple was arrested in early November at their Houston County home after authorities issued a Fugitive from Justice Warrant. They waived extradition and were taken to Dayton to face charges.
The alleged victim is believed to have come forward in September, claiming the abuse occurred numerous times when she was between the ages of two and eight. She is now 16.
Federal court documents show Larry Bones was indicted in August, 2010 on charges he violated federal firearms laws. Former Cottonwood Police Chief Jim Smith said Bones is a convicted felon who had guns in his home. In 2005, he was found guilty assaulting a police officer in Ohio.
Bones was ordered to serve 12 months in federal prison and an additional three years supervised probation following his guilty plea to the gun charges. Federal court records do not indicate his probation has been violated at this time.
Larry Bones has been granted a trial continuance in his cases while Brandy is scheduled for trial January 28 in Ohio.
